Robot PaPeRo Wins A Version in Miniature

NEC presents a reduced version of robot PaPeRo, the PaPeRo-mini. The robot speaker was introduced for the first time in 2004, and the new version also has voice recognition and synthesizer that allows to speak, as larger brother. The PaPeRo-mini measures 250 × 170 x 179 mm, in contrast with the original that it measures 385 x 248 x 245 mm. THE objective of NEC when creating the PaPeRo-mini was the miniaturization of the conversation module.

I was already wanting a PaPeRo, but this version in miniature is still more interesting. Unhappily PaPeRo is still in researches and it should not be thrown commercially for the time being. He should be introduced at the Fair ROBOMEC 2007, that it happens from 10 to May 12 in Japan.
